Sustainability is my greatest interest/passion of all. Maybe it's because I admire balance in life. Or maybe I just don't want to be blamed by future generations for destroying the planet. Alternative fuel, such as biodiesel, is a sustainable alternative to Petroleum fuels. Biodiesel is usually made from soybeans or other vegetable oil, which will work in any diesel engine usually with no modifications. So you can pretty much just buy a VW TDI (like my Golf) or Mercedes Benz and just fill it with Biodiesel instead of diesel. You can get an old diesel Benz for only around $1k-$3k! I can help you find one too. Biodiesel emits carbon emissions, but they are absorbed by the plants required to grow the oil. Admittedly, I'm overly passionate about Biodiesel, so ask me and I'll give you the straight up. Although if you don't ask me I might not mention it.
You know the stuff that's good? ...yeah, that's what I listen to.
Little Miss Sunshine, Office Space, Christopher Guest Movies, Fight Club, and I'm a total sucker for any James Bond flick.
I don't have cable, because I hate Comcast. Not because I hate TV, that's like saying you hate people and maybe some really suck, but some are great. What's funny is that you never hear people bashing BOOKS, but they'll bash TV all the time. What if instead of watching TV you spent your whole life just reading books about the adventures of others, but never had any of your own? Bottom line, most things in moderation are okay and so is TV. Besides, you could learn a thing or two... just like with books.
In the last couple years I've read: Chuck Palahniuk (Choke & Lullaby), Chet Baker - As Though I Had Wings. David Sedaris – Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim. Every Dan Brown book (except Angels & Demons) and I'm by no means a literary snob, so I have no problem admitting that I enjoyed them immensely. America (the book) - does that count? ha ha. And I’ve partially read a slew of political books that I can rarely seem to read from cover to cover. The best being Al Franken - Lies And the Lying Liars Who Tell Them.
My 91-year-old uncle that still plays the drums! He rocks! My Dad, the former fireman/Arson investigator that's liked by just about everyone he meets. My Mom for being such a Mom. The good teachers I've had that could have worked anywhere but chose the accessibility of public schools instead (Ken Magri, Harold Schneider, Ms. Bowman to name a few). Jake Glazier for saving my life in what could & should have been a deadly freeway accident with a Semi. That life-saving, energy-giving, banana I had just before I (the idiot) went surfing out into a strong riptide. ...and the academy for nominating me. (whhhhhh, yeah, cheers)
