First and foremost-- writing! I am a total Stephen Glass-- without those pesky fact checkers (or a six figure book deal). Basically-- I like to tell stories. That pretty much ended my pursuit of a journalism career.
It's my childhood dream to write movies-- and since I have not acknowledged my maturity-- the dream lives on!
I want to make people laugh, cry, think and react. It's more of a selfish thing really-- I just really love the feeling of capitvating a person(s) with a fabulous tale.
When I was six I would write stories I'd have my dolls perform. Since my 'act' never made out of the livingroom, I took up short story writing in middle school and eventually playrwriting in high school. In highschool I won the honor of best stageplay in a playwriting contest and had that story produced. Being the dramatic goof-off that I am, the natural next step was to take to the camera-- and I began making short low-budget films to share with friends and classmates.
I've partially lost that "nothing can stop me" attitude I used to assume about becoming a bona fide Hollywood screenwriter due to the ho-hum of vanilla reality and responsibility. It is the worst suck of sucks. Nonetheless, I am ambitious and still dream of the day I sit in not so quiet dark of a movie theater enjoying audience reaction to something I wrote.
What else interests me? Pretty much anything involving the beach, adult beverages, chill music and fabulous conversation.
I love the humanities and religions and learning about cultures of different places and peoples. I'd steal a goat and five chickens to spend a year or so just traveling the world and learning all about the past, present and future human journey and writing it all down.
I can't watch enough films. Comedy, drama, horror, romantic comedy, action, foreign, indy.. bring 'em all on! I am well known to every employee at the local Blockbuster.
Randoms: Prank calls, singing in the car, talk radio (loves me some Dr.Laura, Michael Savage, Neil Bortz, Glen Beck, Clark Howard, Rusty Humphries, Jerry Doyle, Bill O'Reily...even a little Hannity now and then...yes, I am a conservative...no,I no longer affiliate myself with any parties) Making crappy low buget videos, history, current events, news(I get obsessed with the news like people do with celebrity gossip),live bands, practical jokes, Sleeping in, Shopping (duh, I am a girl!),introducing myself as someone I'm not and seeing how long I can keep up the act, hanging out with my just as dorky and equally wonderful fiance,Brian, and genuinly just enjoying life.
I'm one of those "nerds" who will tell you to live in each moment of the day. It's so true though-- enjoy life, otherwise you'll miss it.
