it was 1999 when i first entered the mouth of madness. ed borrowed me from my then owner, judy, for the sake of traveling cross-country to the "burning man" festival. after riding for three days, sleeping at a campground in kansas, a friend's house in denver and some little pull-off in the salt flats of utah, we finally parked in the black rock desert playa of north-west nevada to witness and absorb the phenomenon of 80,000 people "radically expressing" themselves quite freely and artistically. soon after our return to my home at judy's house in alabama, she ultimately realized the profound connection that was made between ed and i, and she offered to sell me to ed for the remarkable price of one u.s. dollar.
the deal was done, and since, ed has covered my ass with a myriad of fun bumperstickers and taken me on some very memorable camping excursions, including fall creek falls with the kids, montgomery bell with brenda, "cancelfest" with amy, and most notably, our signature annual birthday trip to the infamous bonnaroo festival - my home away from home.
