The Italian 90's dance scene has left a great impression all over the world! In all of this movement there was one record called “slip & slide†produced by Dj Karma and Niki x. When in 1994 these two young Italian dj's released this record (their first one), they couldn't have imagined the great success that was waiting for them in England ,even when this record didn't sell too good when it was first released. Maybe also because their new somewhat aggressive style was different from the other Italian dance music. In U.K. Italian 90's dance was especially played in north England mainly by 4 lots of DJing groups (Fever @ Blackpool, Life @ Bowlers Manchester, Venue Team @spennymoor (Northeast) and the biggest which was Zone @ Blackpool. It was also played down south near London in a few gay clubs too. The person that should be thanked for making Dj Karma & Niki-x “Slip & Slide†as big as it was is DJ Rikkee Young,it was his signature tune and many people have been dancing to this song! Therefore there is always a massive fight to own the vinyl if it appears on ebay or elsewhere , one copy has even been sold for £820!!! For a lot of collectors “Slip & Slide†has become the most wanted Italian dance record of all times! Ten years later something strange happened: Peter (Dj Karma) and Maurice (Niki x) who hadn't been working together anymore for some years, met again at a club in Bologna and decided to work together again. The same week, Dj Mikey O'Hare had been trying by e-mail to find out if dj Karma was the producer of “Slip & Slideâ€.Thanks to www.italiandanceforum.co.uk they've discovered their success in England , because in all of these years they've never had a clue!!! They also found out that there were a lot of illegal(bootleg) copies going round, then their old label (Back Up) decided to re-press a 1000 copies from the original release (sold out just in a week). Dj Karma and Niki x didn't agree with this decision because it didn't seem fair to all of the people who've been paying a lot of money to own the original press. When they were playing in England for an event in Workington (@ Melodiez) they've met some of the dj's who have been supporting them over the years and decided to work together on this project of a new remix of “Slip & Slide. They've organised with a lot of help from Alan and Italiandanceforum a Slip & Slide remix competition and received a lot of good remixes, out all of these dj's they've chosen 3 of them : Mikey O'Hare, John G and Ultimate High , Bad Behaviour. Dj Karma and Dj Niki x have been very happy with the results , this has been one of the bigger reasons to start the 90STYLE movement.
90STYLE is a project that goes back to the sound and the magic of the nineties mixing it with modern style. This philosophy will be used for the production of 90STYLE records and also at dance events where 90STYLE's artists and dj's will be performing.Now have been working together with Datura (one of the bigger and most famous Italian artists duo of the 90's) for a new important project. This project is connected to 90style's philosophy, with the collaboration of Datura's Italian event “Pezzi da 90†.
