Remember our name "PROJECT MAYHEM" and memorize our faces, cause you'll be seeing us climb to the top!Since 1996, when his best friend Jeremy introduced him to Paintball, Travis has dreamed of having his own Professional Paintball Team. However, in 1998 he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma and not expected to make it through the treatment. Jeremy traveled across the state to be by his friend's side. Make-A-Wish was called in and when Peggy made it known that Travis loved Paintball and idolized BoB Long, they hooked him up. Side-by-side, not only did Travis & Peggy get to meet his idol, he was able to play along side him in competition and meet many of the best people in the world of Paintball.. In the world, period! Despite Travis' frail condition, Bob was so impressed with his playing ability that he invited him to go to Skyball '99 with his team, Bob Long's IRONMEN (1998 World Champions) in Toronto, Canada. It was held in The Sky Dome. Travis had a special competition during halftime. Two teams were formed using all the team captains with Travis on Bob's team. In the end Travis and Bob were the only two left on the field. The look on Travis' face up on the JumboTron when he realized that he had really taken the flag and won, said it all. The SkyBall '99 Champions' team captain, Chris LaSoya presented Travis with a brand new '99 Dark Angel paintball marker (which he still has) and the trophy his team had won. From that time ..ball has been what kept Travis alive. All he could think about was when he would be strong enough to play again and who was going to be on his team. That drive and determination to play paintball kept Travis' spirits high and, against all odds, he survived the radiation and the chemotherapy. In remission, Trav was able to play paintball with TEAM VISION from Chicago, traveling all over the United States for close to a year. Travis had to put paintball on the back burner in order to make a living. Nicole (HYNA) became interested in the sport Travis loved so much, joining in the practices and giving the boys a run for their money. She may look sweet, but she'll take you OUT! They were on top of the world! Then when he had been in remission for 5 years, the unthinkable happened.. The cancer had come back with a vengeance. Reluctantly, he under went a stem-cell transplantation and was subjected to a lot of extremely potent chemotherapy drugs. Almost a year later, after being in isolation for 5 months, he was only able to go out and join the rest of the world as long as he wore gloves and a mask. That was good enough for him. He was ready to play paintball again! With more determination than ever, he vowed to form a tournament team and compete again! Project MAYHEM is the result of his perseverance. It has been an uphill climb all the way. Jeremy (BUNKERTOR) and Travis (KEMO KAOS) have remained side by side throuh the years. With Peggy (PRESS) and Nicole (HYNA) always there to run drills and keep up with the boys the team bond strengthened and their playing improved. In 2005 the newest member, Andy (LIZZARD) a long time friend of Trav's, joined the team. Andy was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma as a young adult. With Travis there to provide encouragement, Andy responded well to the treatments he was forced to endure. Once he was strong enough to focus on something other than his health, the foursome encouraged him to come out and watch them play. It looked like fun and before too long Andy was hooked as well. Project MAYHEM has a bond that goes far beyond paintball. Their loyalty and devotion to paintball and each other has nevered wavered and is the catalyst that will drive this team to VICTORY.
