About Me
KELLY JOYCE
Kelly Joyce was born in Paris in 1982. She is a diversified talented artist, splendid singer, dancer and composer. She has studied in London violin for 8 years, piano for 5 years, dance at the Royal Academy for 12 years. She breathes music since she was a child. Her father is a skilful composer as well as her mother – Mrs. Emanuelle Vidal Simoes De Fonseca – who is not only the founder of the Chocolats band but also their member singer.
After her success with the single Vivre la vie, she is launched excellently through the Italian territory being also placed at the top of 10 CD singles most sold. Hence, she reaches the foreign record market – besides 100 thousand copies sold only in France -. In 2001, her first album is released, whose title is “Kelly Joyceâ€. This album highlights her diversified talents. It is a very refined record, rich in essences, inspirations and references, in a variety of music genres ranging over the never-ending pop by Burt Bacharach up to tango, from the Caribbean rhythms to the fascinating retrò of the Folie Bergère.
In the following two years, Kelly moves around the world beginning with a trio, and following with a jazz quintet, taking everywhere an elegant as well as refined show rich in standard jazz, soul, funk, obviously enriched by the songs of her very successful album. She performs as vocalist for two-ensemble jazz shows at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, along with Massimo Moriconi and Roberto Ciotti.
In December 2003 she obtains the final award for her artistic development, performing on the stage of the “Sala Nervi†hall, in the prestigious Christmas Concert in the Vatican.
Through a consistent personal professional background, Kelly Joyce comes back in 2004 with her new album, born by the meeting with Rolando D’Angeli in 2001, already producer of Nek, Giorgia, Umberto Tozzi. Together with Lorenzo Sebastiani and Gian Maria Flores, forming a working team that gives birth to the new album “Chocolat†, including also the track Little Kaige, already released as single record in the summer 2003.
In May 2004, another single comes in advance with respect to the album; C’est l’amour qui vien is released. This song sum up the variety of the multicoloured, as well as “hybrid†world of Kelly as artist. It is a fusion of various printings and different contaminations that give birth to an unedited musical landscape, as a legitimate son of South American bossa nova and an happy meeting between a certain cult mood in French style and the most trendy English lounge atmospheres of the moment.
In September Kelly is still on air through the radio with her single Melody, still taken by the album Chocolat. A track that “wink at the high standard disco music of the years ’70â€, following the tradition of great black singers.
The album “Chocolat†, being a debut of Kelly Joyce as author, is going to be issued in June 2004. It is a surprise, above all from the point of view of the sound, the most electronic atmospheres and the “trip-hop†ones of the first record that are voluntarily rarefied. And so on, besides the already mentioned songs, there is a passage from pop almost vintage of Passepartout or the L’ingenue, to the hopping jazz as well as deeply French jazz of Chocolat, to the neo-bossa of Folies, from thebreath almost cinematographic of Bicycle. Moreover, listening to Colours, we are near the best English new wave.
From the year 2005, she is constantly committed in a long series of concerts abroad, being present above all in the Eastern European Countries, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, where she takes successfully also the new single Cos’e.. che vuoi da me performed together with Dj Fish (ex Sottotono) and sung in couple with Esa. A fascinating video of this song has been realized as well as programmed in the national networks.
Ini 2006 Kelly Joyce continues her collaborations with Dj Fish and with world of Hip Hop, with the very new featuring Mi porti su, that will be released next June together with the videoclip, planned through the national networks.
Her international collaborations take her to an artistic understanding with one of the most renowned Ukrainian boy-bands, the “4 Kingsâ€. Through their collaboration in duet they record in 2007 the cover of “Delicate†, the beautiful song by Terence Trend D’Arby, from which a video clip has been realized too, going on rotation through Ukrainian musical TV channels.
In 2008, Kelly Joyce comes back with a very surprising track, which title is Rendez-vous, released on the 16th of May, pre-announcing “Allô!†, the third album she is preparing since two years and that will be published in September 2008.
The videoclip of Rendez-vous is on broadcast through the principal TV networks.
