Hmm... Let's see... I'm a grown man. As such, I won't post half-naked pictures of myself on MySpace, pretend to be someone or something that I am not, or lie my way out of a situation. I will not compromise my character to fit in with ANYBODY, and I govern myself according to an obsolete code of respect, honor, chivalry, integrity, and loyalty. I'd much rather have one real friend than 1,000 coward-ass drinking buddies. I am not and have never claimed to be a thug, a baller, a killer, a playa, or some kinda convict with street credit. I am not typical, common, average, or "the norm."
What I am is a literate, well-educated, strong, motivated, and determined black man who is far from perfect. I am a fighter and a thinker. I know where I want to be and how to get there. I do not require constant approval and attention from others to function. In fact, I couldn't care less what most people think of me - I know what I think of myself. This is not bitterness or arrogance, this is truth and internal strength.
Love me or hate me, but please understand - I...am...not...going...to...change.
