About Me

Vision Generation (VGen) would like to welcome you to our community!
Australia is lucky enough to have an abundance of musicians who are passionate about the future of our world. Working with VGen, a collection of these talented musicians have put together an awesome CD, providing you good folk an alternative voice that you can dance to...and be inspired by!
So we'd like to give a HUGE shout out to all the bands who have not only donated their music to this project, but who actively participated in the CD and shared with us their vision for a better world.
Check out the CD, absorb the positive vibes and ask yourself the question..
What's your vision for our generation?
Buy the STIR CD here, right now!!
VGen, the youth movement of World Vision, has a pretty darn cool vision - to inspire, to educate and to empower young people in the fight against poverty and global injustice. Check out stir.org.au, our online resource, to see what stirs us the most (poverty, unfair trade, lack of aid, debt burdens, child exploitation etc) and the action we are taking against them! We'd love to have you join the action...so get involved!
But in the mean time, chill out and enjoy

Influences: What is YOUR vision for OUR generation?

A word from the artists…

“In this day of global consciousness we know that we are the caretakers of this wonderful planet, not the owners. We should empower this nation to embrace a new found respect for the land.”
- Bomba (Nicky Bomba)

“My vision for our generation is that all people look into what truly makes them happy… If we all thought that way our priorities would be very different… Imagine if everybody did it. It would be sick!!”
- Ash Grunwald

“Chances are if you’re reading this, you’re one of those people who are very much awake and active right now. For that, I’d like to say thank you and bless your heart.”
- The Beautiful Girls

“Agitators, immigrants, misfits and underdogs. You know what? That’s the Australia I’m proud of.”
- Tzu

“My vision is that we rise up in humanity, dignity, courage and soul. May we all open our hearts and minds, and let our circle of compassion grow to include not only our loved ones, but all of humanity…”
- Blue King Brown (Natalie Pa’apa)

“Many problems in the world are so terrible because they make so little sense, and in some ways this song is trying to make a point about this through a basic parallel.”
- The Cat Empire

“Our vision is to inspire the next generation to do great things, as they are our only chance.”
- Diafrix

“My vision for our generation is that we can all be the best we can possibly be without compromise.”
- The John Butler Trio (John Butler)

“My vision is of a peaceful co-existence in the Middle East… And that one day co-existence will turn into friendship.”
- Lior

“Water is more valuable than gold – say NO to Pascua Lama.”
- Labjacd

“This is a song about the sea water, as the current circulates the island of Lungutja. Red flag and blue flag people are sharing those Munurru waters together.”
- Saltwater band

“Tom Jones said it best: ‘Whenever there’s a fight so that hungry people can eat, I’ll be there. I’ll be in the way that kids laugh when they are hungry and they know that supper is ready.’”
- Paul Kelly

“This is a song about seeking the truth in every question we face and in the daily lies that infiltrate our media, advertising and politics.”
- True Live

“My mantra is being true to the good spirit.”
- Xavier Rudd
