I am 2 1/2 years old, blond, lab/pitt mix named Harley. Yes, I am a dog but my Mom & Dad think of me as their child. You may think that it is silly but when you hear the story about how they became to adopt me you might not think it's so silly after all!When I was a very young pup my "birth" mother was taking away from me and 7 of my brother's & sister's were left in a house to die & to defend for ourselves. Someone went into the house to look around to sell it when they found us. They called the Binghamton Humane Society & they rushed out to get us. Upon arrival we were cold, scared, and were wining. A nice woman rapped us up in warm blankets and put the males in one bin & the females in another bin. They feed us, played with us, & even cleaned up after us!I was the only "odd" ball in the group. All of my brother's & sister's where tan, brown, and black. And were shepard mixes. I on the other hand was a blond lab/pitt mix. Wish someone could explain that one. We were at the shelter for a couple of weeks when I heard them say that we could go home soon.One week before we were able to be adopted a man & a woman came up to the room that we were in to see us. We were all so very excited and happy to see someone new. They played with each one of my brother's but, said that they would perfer a male. So my sister's were out of the question. The female picked me up and said that she loved me and I was so cute. The man agreed. They said their goodbyes after awhile. I was so sad to see them go. But after 1 week we would see them again. The woman introduced her self as "Hope, your new Mommy"! While the man was downstairs filling out paper work.
