Coltrane, Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, Pepper Adams, Cecil Payne, Cannonball, Bird, James Spaulding, and of course, the master of long melodic lines, Lee Morgan. On bass, Graham calls on Jamerson, Melvin Dunlap, Chuck Rainey, Jaco, Ron Carter, Cachao and Jimmy Blanton. Graham records and plays live with drummers Mike Willars, Jimmy Varley, James Gadson and Barry Saperstein. Guitarist Ken Lasaine and Producer/Guitarist Ted Perlman and Keyboard players Jon Hartmann and Virgil Weber.
He is currently mixing a Latin /Jazz cd which is now available for downloads and on the air on 88.1 in Los Angeles. He contracted arranged and played Tenor and Baritone on Lisa Haley's latest cd "King Cake" which is up for a Grammy nonination this year in the Cajun/Zydeco category. This would be his second nomination. When contacted by Lisa, he took the work to long time collaborator Richard Zeier, in whose studio Graham has recorded two cds and 5 of the tracks that will be on his new cd titled BRASIL! The title track was recorded at Jimmy Varley's studio and was done in two versons (one with steel drums). James Gadson is on "Solange", which can be heard on this site. Highly recommeded! Graham says playing music is akin to talking in tongues. It is truly a gift of the spirit. For bio, cd availibility and purchases please go to cdbaby.com/grahamdorsey.
