In 97' Michelangelo (yes that his real name) discovered the house scene and purchased DJ equipment.
The madness had begun....
Starting off with a trance influence, he progressed into a dark chunky progressive sound toward the turn of the millennium. Of late, he has added a "Stabby Modern Deep Techno Acid" twist to his arsenal.
In general, if you ask what style he plays, he couldn't give you a straight answer as he is influenced by many styles & his frequent travels to Ibiza, Italy, & Argentina. Download a set or three & decide for yourself!
Michelangelo (MA) never really looked into DJaying in any significant venue until late 02' when Danny Tenaglia asked him to open for him at the infamous Vinyl.
(MA) didn't think he was ready and actually said, "No" the first time! He let that offer act as a goal & prepared himself for a main room gig. In January of 03', Danny gave him "the call" around 5:30 p.m. on the night of his Friday party & the rest is history. He feels very grateful being able to play another 6 times after that up until Vinyl/Arc's closing & even having DT open for him one night he had to shoot up to one of his infamous Montreal-Stereo gigs. (MA) has also played in many other NYC (Pacha, Crobar, Cielo, etc.), Hamptons, Miami, St.Martin, and Vegas venues. He would also love to play more abroad (hint-hint).
Just in 07' Michelangelo has played with the likes of DJ Vibe, Victor Calderone, Chus & Ceballos, & of course DT yet he is still claiming it is all "just a hobby"!
