Romany Titre was born in 1988 in Hilversum, Holland. She has been singing all her life, even before she could talk, wrote her first song at the age of three and since then never stopped writing. Her mother, who is a music teacher, gave Romany and her two brothers their first music lessens at home. Which contained mostly: sightreading, solfege and playing the recorder.
At age six Romany started to play the violin and when she turned twelve she wrote her own musical which she and her classmates performed several times in 2000. That same year she took her first singing lessons and joined the choir of Kinderkoor Akademie Nederland. With the choir of Romany recorded several CD's, participated in international choir competitions and performed all over Europe. In 2001 they won the first price at the National Children's Choir Festival.
At age 14 Romany got accepted to the Young Talent Class at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague where she studied 3 years of classical singing with Manon Heijnen, one year of jazz singing with Annette von Eichel and 4 years classical and jazz piano with Katy Satur and Tilmar Junius. In 2005 she won the first price in the category of music at Kunstbende in her district, the Haque with one of her own songs. That brought her to the finals of Kunstbende in Amsterdam where she won the national second price in the category of music which led her to perform her winning song at the Tv-show Bruja and at Radio Discus.
In 2006 Romany got accepted to Conservatory of Amsterdam where she studied for a year with Vera van de Poel and further developted her singing and songwriting skills. Eventhough she loved her time at the Conservatory of Amsterdam she decided to follow one of her other passions and started in 2007 with her first year of Psychology at the University of Amsterdam, but is nevertheless still busy writting her own music and performing. In 2007 she has had the privilege to perform one of her own songs with the Dutch pianist Cor Bakker and his combo at the TU in Delft, in March 2008 she performed in as a featured artist on Stage Factory and as a special guest in the Schouwburg of Almere and won the second price at the Amsterdam Student Festival, in the category Singer-Songrwriter, in May 2008.
