whateverlife.comKayo school of dance started off as a community project to help bring the youth of Barking and Dagenham off the streets and involve them in something a lot more constructive and fun. The creator of Kayo School of Dance, Fay Hough, knew that in order to interest teenagers in a youth project, she would have to teach something the teens wanted to learn. Urban music/ clothing/ dance is so popular between the youth of today and conveniently Fay is a Street/ Hip Hop Dancer herself. So she used this idea and created a Street Dance School dedicated to urban dance, and opened it for teens aged 12-17. The school is now so successful that she is teaching in secondary schools, and is planning to open a 5-12’s class and an over 18’s class. With help alongside Matt Thirkle, Fay and Matt are creating a great enviornment for kids/adults to come and learn street dance at a serious level but still have fun. Up and coming shows include, Café De Paris – Leicester Square, London - Brentwood Theatre, Barking, and Fay is planning to arrange many other shows throughout her borough, and the rest of London.
