The name was inspired by the many influences the "Number One" has in Islam.We believe in ONE Allah, ONE Sustainer, ONE Creator and ONE final Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (SAW).Despite our differences, we are ONE Ummah, united in our diversity, which is embodied between the members of Waahid.From different backgrounds, races, and places, Waahid is a group of 5 talented members bringing together a harmonious symphony of sounds.Well, if you wanna know more about us then read our Bio on the main page But briefly we a group of 5 guys, from Durban, South Africa, where the sun never sets! We were formed in November 2006. a month we 5 will never forget, and genereations down the line this day will become a national holiday haha.Our music is very unique, because we use many genres and fuse them to create a smooth, soft and warm sound. No musical instruments are used, for the simple reason to cater for some people who believe musical instruments to be Haraam (forbidden) in Islam. We have performed with International Stars, at the Muslim 4Eva Concert, our debut performance, with Zain Bhika, Dawud Wharnsby Ali, Rashid Bhika and Naadira Ali.We have our first CD launched and is entitled Unity in Diversty.
