OK, so before you accept my “friends request†or add me to your list let’s get one thing straight: I am not here to play a numbers game or to sign up the best looking girls for a top friend's list that looks like an adult dating website or strippers convention. I am on MySpace to Network and meet truly amazing people. People who are artistic, creative, free thinking, independent, opinionated and different. If you are the sort or person who gets off at having 10,000 friends or won’t respond to the occasional polite message then bugger off back to your superficial, commercialized, meaningless world. I don’t need your “token†friendship.Well for those of you still reading, thank you. My name is Graham although my friends call me “Gra Gra Rockstar”. Daggy I know but spawned from my love of music and years of performing in bands on the Sydney pub circuit and beyond.
By day I'm a mild mannered Civil Engineer/Project Manager but by night I'm a guitarist/songwriter/producer/engineer and owner/operator of the Loft Studio in Sydney and also run a small Indie record label/production company: Platonic Music .
Since the age of 16 I have played music professionally and featured in bands such as Resin, The Margot Smith band, the James Napier Duo and most notably Platonic. For a new challenge and change in direction I have just formed Sydney’s most dynamic swing band: The Velvet Set .
So who am I? Well I am no wall flower. I like to think, I like to dream and I like to do. I have a taste for the darker, melancholic side of life as I believe this is where we feel real emotion. For this reason I am drawn to dark/brooding/alternative/industrial music, surrealist art, slick fashion, European architecture and culture but most importantly, people who think for themselves, draw their own conclusions and set their own rules: not follow others blindly.
In a dull boring world of mediocrity, senseless violence, hatred and inequity; let’s make a difference. I’m always open to meeting dynamic, thoughtful & creative people. I love seeing bands or hanging at non-pretentious clubs where the music is awesome, the conversation is thought provoking and the wannanbes are left standing in the street.
