ZO2 ROCKZ!!!

About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Dark purple guitar

This is the page for the Central Pennsylvannia, Maryland, and Virgina region of the ZO2 street team (or Z-team as we call it) My name is Tiffany and I have been given the honor of regional leader for this area. I am also an administrator on their message boards. I have a massive love for the band ZO2. I have been a HUGE fan of them ever since I saw them open for Kiss and Poison in 2004 (to the fans of Z-Rock and don't know it, YES they are a real band) They have made a big impact on my life and they are very special to me. Their music is amazing and their live shows full of energy. They are also some of the nicest musicians I have ever met. Unfortunatly, being band from Brooklyn, New York, they are not widely known in this area so they are not booked a whole lot around here but I hope to try to change that. I can not do that all on my own so that is why this page is up. There can be power in numbers so I need fellow ZO2 fans from Central PA,MD,VA, and surrounding states to unite and get the word out on the wonderful band ZO2. Some of my goals with the street team include:
1. Get the word out on the band
2. Get them booked more shows at venues
3. Get the band's music airplay on radio stations
4. Encourage more people in this area to become fans of ZO2
5. Encourage people to watch their tv show "Z-Rock" on IFC.
6. Encourage people to buy their albums and come to their live shows.

4. Hand out ZO2 flyers at concerts and other music events. You can either contact me for flyers, make your own, or print them out by going to here for premade layouts:

5. Start a ZO2 topic on message boards and music sites. Please follow and respect their guidelines when posting. Make sure it is allowed first and post it at the proper forums.
That is just a few things. I'm open for any suggestions so if you got one let me know.

Television:

Yes ZO2 is going to have their own tv show on the Independant Film Network.
IFC expands lineup, renews ’Whitest Kids’
By Kimberly Nordyke April 3, 2008
IFC is expanding its original programming lineup with "Z Rock," ordering 10 episodes of the semiscripted comedy loosely based on the lives of members of a real rock band.
In addition, the network has renewed the sketch comedy "The Whitest Kids U Know" for a third season.
"Z Rock" is a half-hour comedy that centers on Z02, a real band consisting of Paulie Z, David Z and Joey Cassata, who will play themselves. The show -- co-produced by Starz Media, MarkMark Prods. and IFC -- will revolve around the band’s efforts to obtain a record deal while performing nightly at clubs. However, their hopes and dreams are stalled as they continue to become more successful as an upscale kids’ party band, the Z Brothers, who are the toast of Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
Each episode of the show is "heavily outlined," with the actors allowed to improvise on set, said Debbie DeMontreux, senior vp original programming at IFC. The network also has lined up several guest stars, who will play themselves but in fictional situations. They include Dave Navarro, Joan Rivers, John Popper of Blues Traveler and Gilbert Gottfried, as well as a recurring cameo by comedian Greg Giraldo. Rivers, for example, will play the band manager’s aunt.
DeMontreux said "Z Rock" is a good fit for IFC’s original programming slate, which also includes comedies "The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman" and "The Business."
"We have been pretty successful in the comedic area of original programming, and when ’Z Rock’ came to us, it was a no-brainer," she said. "It’s a unique concept about a real-life rock band who lead a dual life. It’s got an extremely independent spirit."
Quipped Rivers: "I’m thrilled to have a recurring role on ’Z Rock’ as it is the first time in 20 years that three single guys want to see me every week."
"Z Rock" debuts at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 7, but IFC is premiering the show on its on-demand platform IFC Free on Aug. 28, nine days before its network launch.
The series is executive produced by MarkMark’s Mark Farrell and Mark Efman; Andrew Gottlieb; and DeMontreux, Evan Shapiro and Rachel Smith for IFC. Bob Held and Lynn Lendway are co-executive producers. Starz Media also is handling international sales.
"Kids," meanwhile, originated on sister channel Fuse before moving to IFC in February for its Season 2. The series -- which stars Sam Brown, Zach Cregger, Trevor Moore, Darren Trumeter and Timmy Williams -- will have its third-season premiere early next year. It’s exec produced by Jim Biederman along with Smith, DeMontreux, Shapiro and Jennifer Caserta for IFC.
DeMontreux added that IFC will continue building on its comedy slate but also is developing projects in the drama realm. She declined to give further details, saying only that drama is "the next natural step for us."

Books:

Here's some things that have been said in reviews about ZO2:
"It's music that you'll want to play loud, sing along to and memorize all at the same time."
-- Ken Pierce – "Metal Edge Magazine"
"If you think for a second that hard-hitting, cutting-edge rock and roll is dead, then you haven't heard ZO2! Ain't It Beautiful is just what the doctor ordered, delivering track after track of masterfully crafted rock perfection…"
-- Christopher Gotzen-Berg – "Inside Connection"
"…it's easy to understand why (Paul) Stanley – and just about everyone else who's checked out this group's work – ends up reacting excitedly to the brand of music ZO2 makes… and it's about to pay big dividends for this go-for-broke power trio"
-- Rob Andrews - "Hit Parader"
"If you haven't seen this band you will, and if you already have, you will see them again… The stage presence is "all that" and more, aside from their good looks and their natural talent, they possess the ability to capture their audience from the very first song and keep them captivated for the whole set."
-- "Live Music Indiana" Indianapolis, IN
"Great, rockin' tunes and a singer who knows how to use his voice for more than just punctuating good guitar licks. …his voice is all melody and he uses it to create the hooks in the songs rather than let the instrumentation do so."
-- "Edge Magazine"
"Standing ovations as an opening band and a personal invitation from Kiss prove ZO2 has the goods to back up its confident and colossal sound."
-- Wade Coggeshall "Journal Review" Indiana
"Balls to the wall rock! Loved the drums and vocals and pace…"
-- "In a Nutshell" Philadelphia, PA

Heroes:

Who is ZO2???
Talk is cheap – especially in rock ‘n roll! All that matters are the music and the performances. Melding the funk and swagger of the 70s with modern arrangements, harmonies and lyrics, ZO2 is single-handedly infusing the rock world with the energy and excitement it has so long been missing.
ZO2’s highly anticipated second CD, “Ain’t It Beautiful”, including songs such as the politically explosive “Isolate”, the satirically charged “If You See Kay” and the emotive “Comin’ Home”, proves once again ZO2 is a rock n’ roll force with which to be reckoned.
ZO2’s debut independent release, “Tuesdays & Thursdays” won the band surprising attention. Within weeks of its release, ZO2 was on the main stage opening for Kiss and Poison on their entire 40 city national, VH1 sponsored “Rock the Nation” tour and the toughest audiences in the world embraced them with standing ovations every night.
Featuring brothers Paulie Z (vocals, guitar) and David Z (vocals, bass guitar) and Joey Cassata (drums, vocals), the members’ individual musical achievements are noteworthy: David as the bassist for the enormously successful Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Joey in the highly successful and critically acclaimed Blue Man Group and Paulie as a featured vocalist on many of Howard Stern’s infamous song parodies and also as the creator of NYC’s popular ZO2’s Rock Asylum featuring local and national rock artists each month proving that rock n’ roll is alive and prospering and the rock community is still thriving, hungry and begging for more.
ZO2 isn’t resting for even a moment as they bring the party and their personal brand of high energy rock n’ roll to enthusiastic audiences in clubs across the country from NYC to LA. And radio is proving as supportive as the clubs. ZO2 has been featured several times on the nationally syndicated radio show, “The Tourbus”. They’ve also appeared on Mark “The Animal” Mendoza’s radio show on Long Island’s The Bone and made a guest spot on Eddie Trunk’s syndicated radio show with the legendary Joe Lynn Turner.
And what does ZO2 mean? Clearly, it’s the formula for rock ‘n roll.
