The Begining:
Mutilacion started like almost every band. There were a couple of guys who liked a lot of the same music and wanted to jam out some songs. Well after doing a bunch of covers we decided to start writing our own material. At this time we knew that we were gonna do something a bit different. We all listen to metal, but metal is so diverse. Our likes in music range from death metal, grindcore, black metal, thrash, punk, and other styles of music. We all listen to a lot of the same stuff but also to alot of different things, and when writing songs we are very open to each other's ideas. There is no leader, no stronger voice in Mutilacion. We are all equal, and are one force.
The Music:
Like we said musically we do incorporate different styles of metal and other forms of music. We do not want to limit ourselves to one style of music or to be part of a trend or a scene. Apart from that we ONLY write music that we like. Is is never gonna be our intent to write anything in hopes of anybody liking it. We write music that we enjoy playing, if others like it then it's good, and if they don't, then they can go listen to some emo.
Lyrics:
When we did start writing music we were not sure of what type of lyrics we were gonna write. At first we did write lyrics that were not very serious, but as we grew as a band and as friends we started talking about many different things. With these conversations we saw that we shared many of the same ideas and points of view on many different subjects. This is when we started to write more serious lyrics. And yes the lyrics are important to us. If we did not feel strong about the messege we put out then we would just play instrumentals, but also if we thought we were not good at writing music then we would just do spoken word. Both lyrics and music are taken equally serious.
Further notes:
As Mutilacion we feel a strong pride of our heritage and our history, so it will be heard in our music. Also we do dislike many things as well, many things in modern society, western "civilization", certain religions, certain institutions, etc. As a band we do not just want and intent to be just people that make music, but a tool to further destroy what we hate and bring up things that we like. This will be shown more and more in live preformances. We will not only diliver music, but a visual to our show. All sences will be raped.
