I just love music, man.

About Me

OK first of all one of my pet peeves is music bios that you KNOW the guy wrote himself but he still wrote it in the third person. Like, "Josh was raised in the harsh climates of the Amazon rainforest where he grew rapidly in the local arts, such as basket weaving, snake wrestling, and alligator surfing." Come on dude we know it's you writing. Just say "I." Anyway, I grew up in a fairly small town called Brockport, New York, which is just west of Rochester. I was involved in music in my church at an early age, singing and performing with kids at the church school that I attended. I did the occasional play here, church special there. I was forced to take piano lessons early on, which of course I did not pursue with necessary gusto. Coming from a musical family, where my father is a worship pastor, pianist, and all around good musician, and my mother being a great singer, I learned a lot at an early age just being around them. Sorry if the punctuation in that last sentence was totally inappropriate, Dad. I attended Roberts Wesleyan College where I studied music education with a vocal emphasis. It was during sophomore year that I picked up the guitar and, having already had a decent piano and theory background, was able to learn a lot on my own. I mostly messed around for the next few years with guitar, learning a few songs, playing worship, but never really seriously writing. I moved to Franklin, TN, the fall after graduation in 2005 where it has been an amazing journey in God and in music. I have experienced more life changing times in this past year and a half than I ever could have hoped for. I have been writing since December of 2006 and I am excited about what I have accomplished so far and what is ahead of me. My goal is to create music that is deeply personal, honest, and excellent. I hope that my music will encourage, inspire, challenge, relate, convict, heal, embrace, and above all move you to find the only love that will satisfy: Jesus Christ. He has blessed me with any and all talent I may possess and my music is just another way to give back to Him and in turn YOU! So please enjoy my music and share it!
