Sledge [1st TRACK UP NOW]

Sledge began at the Soundroom Community Youth Project in the Summer of 2005 beginning with a small number of classic rock covers.
Since then there has been a small line-up change, with Jay Willis moving from rhythm guitar to drums, Paul Murdy joining the band as bassist and Evan Davies moving to rhythm guitar giving them their strongest line-up ever.
The foursome have came on in leaps and bounds by covering much more technical, heavy metal songs and writing their own songs, which are all ready to be recorded. The band have also been playing some of the most popular venues in the North-East such as the Carling Academy 2 and have been receiving the reception they deserve for their agressive, energetic and powerful live show.
Sledge are a metal band although, it is hard to define what type of metal they play. Some of their songs could be classed as thrash metal, while others are full of technical harmonies giving the music a more melodic style ,with a heavy low end and a powerful rhythm section.
Now the band have began taking booking for their Summer tour with Corruption and Closed Eye Visuals, are set to play Furness Fest and are busy organising a big gig at the Carling Academy 2 to celebrate the release of the Uprising EP, which has been recorded at the Garage Studios in Byker. It is sounding a lot better than anything they have done before. It has been getting nothing but good reviews so far:

We are willing to play any gigs you like. We have no particular fee but petrol money is helpful. We have a full back line consisting of half stack guitar amps, a big powerful bass amp and a full double drum kit if needed. We also have our own strobe light if that would persuade you into booking us. It works very well with some of our set and adds a lot of atmosphere. Soon will wil have our own PA etc. Just message for anymore details.
And also a note to promoters, venues hosts, bands and A&R reps from record labels. We don't have our best songs which show our true potential up on this page. Any of the people listed above who are thinking of doing business with us, just send us an address and we will send a promotional pack to you.
