About Me

Welcome to the frozen depths! Some of you may know as the guitarist for electro-nintendo-core metalers "Elmo Sexwhistle" the rest of you have stumbled across me in a random attempt to find some interesting new music: well I hope I qualify!
To cut a long story short, I started this project as an outlet for my creativity. Both myself and Pacman Jay Goodwood (vox and synths; Elmo Sexwhistle) are very prolific songwriters, so in order to keep up with the sheer speed at which we write songs and record them on our PCs, we have both started solo projects.
A while ago i finished my first album "Songs from the Frozen Depths", loosely concepted, taking a retrospective look upon my loves and losses of the last few years. It may seem I dwell somewhat on the darker side, but hopefully "crakwhore jazz" shows that i do have a good sense of humour and a largely positive out look on life. I'm just a pretty unlucky person; I use my music as an attempt to vent the darker side away from me. I invariably feel better about something once i have written a song about it lol. The title track is also a song i do with my band Elmo Sexwhistle which you really should check out if you like this!
"Gewel" is a song about a girl who has since dumped me like a rock, so its pretty weird to hear it still on here, but hey its probably the best thing i ever wrote so fuck it! Its also a preveiw of what will eventually will be the "Figure in the Shadows" album which is currently on hold while i'm working on a completly different sounding record under the name of "Just" which will probably be another myspace soon! Finally "Ends of a Ruin" is a little jam me and red thrashed out together for my my freshly blooded band "NeverBloom" - which now also has a fully operative myspace with better music on it - which will probably disapear soon to be replaced with something better!so if you like what you heard, feel free to leave a comment, or add me to your "friends". If you don't well.........................
"your mother"
THINGS THAT MAKE MAT HAPPY
Hugs, walks in the sunshine, his bestestwestest friends (Red, Pac, Nadia, Leon, Joey, Robyn - *safe*), his awesome on-line buds (Kitteh, Molly, Merrick, Manda, Claire: love you guys too, even though I'm not completely sure you're real!), Oli for making my profile all sexy and listening to my bollocks, Robyn for making my profile even sexier and not hitting me in the bollocks, getting love life advice from Faye, reading, getting his end away, whiskey and ice cream.., southern comfort when not mixed with red wine, rose perfume (mmm can you smell sex and flowers? ;P), cartoons. ecstacy. weed. midget skat porn...
THINGS THAT MAKE MAT GO GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Nu R&B, boy band fuck ups, cold and dreary weather (this country sucks!), being messed about by girls, angry people, greedy people, emo people (why not try enjoying life for a while, then when you have experienced enough of it to be sure that life is crap, you could try writing music that is actually good and insightful like mine!). people who are more egotistical than me (I'm only egotistical about music, I know I'm good, so I believe in myself: deal with it!), corporate corruption, this FUCKHAT! of a government (fecking ID cards! how did we let them do that?), people burning down his favourite hang outs (RIP eddies & the gallows), when I'm trying to watch midget skat porn and my mum phones me.
stand by for more happy and GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Well I hope this has been enlightening for you. Thank you, come again

Sounds Like: Pretty heavy, but with undertones of my wide variety of influences...

Some of the songs are epic and prog, some are just basically rockin', some are just rants that barely even qualify as songs....

I try not to repeat myself too much.

I hope everyone can find something in my music to enjoy, because the important thing is these are songs about life, and for the most part how badly it sucks dead mans balls......

Which is something we are all familiar with.
