Russ and his pop group 'Scooch' represented the UK at last years 'Eurovision Song Contest', beating tough competition from the likes of Justin Hawkins and Brian Harvey. The British public voted in their scores for 'Scooch' to fly the flag. Russ co-wrote the song 'Flying The Flag (For You)', signed to Warner Music and stormed the UK charts to the number five position last May.
Originally formed in 1999, 'Scooch' signed to EMI Records and gained four top twenty hits including the massive top five single 'More Than I Needed to Know', all culminating in the hit album 'Four Sure'. They also recorded ‘Maybe Tomorrow’ from the classic TV show ‘The Littlest Hobo’ and the cult Natwest advert. Worldwide 'Scooch' scored number one singles in Japan and Australia.
Russ is a successful television presenter, he hosted the popular ITV1 gameshow 'Make Your Play'. Also he was the anchor presenter three nights a week for 'The Great Big Quiz' on Five. Other credits include 'Glitterball' for ITV, 'Disney Channel', 'MTV', 'Sci-Fi Channel', 'Bravo', 'Living', 'Quiz TV' and 'Generation X' for the BBC.
Last year you may have seen Russ in the hit Channel 4 and E4 series 'Boys Will Be Girls', trying to pass himself off as a woman… entertaining stuff!
Russ recently finished a very successful run starring as "The Child Catcher" in the hit musical 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' alongside aussie favourite Craig McLachlan. And last Christmas starred in 'Santa Claus The Musical' with Queen of Eastenders, Anita Dobson and Coronation Street Legend, Roy Barraclough
