STEEV RICHTER IS A LIAR, A THIEF, A THUG AND A VAGABOND, BUT DAMMIT, THE KID CAN SING."
With the release of his fourth studio album, Only Always, Steev Richter is officially ready for the world. "I feel like after all these years of working and learning the craft of songwriting I'm in the exact place that i want to be with it for the very first time, and I believe that this album reflects that." said Richter. "These songs were written over the course of a few years. A few have been previously recorded on acoustic albums and they've all been honed just by playing them hundreds of times live, so I really had a pretty good idea of where I was going with them. I found the right studio, the right producers, and, most importantly, musicians who inspired me and elevated these songs to a level that I would have never believed. It all seemed to come together and I think, at least from the response thus far, that people are really getting that. They actually seem to like it, and that's obviously a plus. I like it too; that's a plus and a first."
Steev Richter first appeared on the music radar in the mid-nineties as the frontman of the New York-based band Jameson Steinway. In a music scene saturated with "grunge", the band forged a live sound that fused blues riffs, pop hooks, and piano leads with smooth vocals and layered harmonies. After five years and modest success the band broke up, and Steev ventured out into a solo career. For the past six years he has enjoyed very slow rise from obscurity with four solo albums, countless packed houses and sold-out shows, and an ever growing fanbase across the country. Known musically for the intensity, the passion, and the honesty that he brings to his live shows, Steev seems to share an intimate bond with his audience that keeps them coming back. He is currently living in Manhattan, NY where he is a full-time musician.

Sounds Like: Steev Richter playing music on a piano and sometimes with some friends playing along with him and also sometimes it sounds like him singing with himself on the cd due to multitracking vocals and other sorts of studio voodoo and tomfoolery. it's pretty much the same exact thing as summer's eve.
