Born Jason Ricardo Bess, known to most as Galanaire 'The big bad Wolf',
this humble, multi-talented youngster is an energetic performer and proudly represents
St.Vincent & the Grenadines (SVG).
He started his singing career at age 14 but was always into music from since he knew it
existed. He got his early inspiration from artistes such as Garnet Silk, Beres Hammond
and other reggae artistes, but he grew to love and appreciate other genres of music,
including Dancehall, Hip Hop and R&B. In high school he participated in and emerged winner
in talent competitions. Galanaire fell in love with Soca music after hearing icons
like Touch, Becket and Winston Soso from SVG, as well as Machel Montano, Krosfyah,
Alison Hinds from the Caribbean. Galanaire eventually became directly involved
with Carnival, the festival that Soca drives, after being motivated by his
mentors and friends in the industry. His closest friend Skarpyon gave major support.
In 2003 he entered the SVG Soca Monarch Competition where he placed second to first
time winner MaddZart. Galanaire's instant success and potential has been recognized
by some of SVG's best musicians and has worked with most of the more recognized
producers in the industry. His passion continues to grow for the music exponentially
as he evolves. His versatility has been exemplified in his career as one of SVG's most
popular Radio Announcer/DJ's. He has done a stint on Hot 97.1 FM and
currently hosts the mid morning slot on Hitz FM, 103.7 Tha station that Jamz.
Galanaire also hosts the television show Video Square that airs on SVGTV and is
also syndicated to other Caribbean TV stations.
In his spare time Galanaire enjoys spending time in his studio Avalaunche OcheZtra
where he now works with young emerging artistes. When he's not working,
Galanaire spends time surfing the Internet, just trying new stuff,
listening to music, photography, clubbin, etc.
