On the hot summer day of July 18th 1981 in Jersey City, NJ a woman gave birth to a baby boy named Terrance Mouzon. Jersey City or as people call it Chill-Town, was breeding ground for some of the hottest MC's and entertainers. Dub possessed, at an early age, a talent for poetry, art and a passion for music. So it was no surprise that by age 13, he was in the studio spitting rhymes for his first demo. Dub continued to make music all through High School and when he graduated in 1999, he took a not so obvious path. He enlisted in the Army and was immediately sent to Korea.
While he continued to record while in Korea, his main agenda was serving his country. Not long after returning from Korea, He was deployed to Iraq to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom with the Bravo Battery 2nd 320th FA Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division in FT. Campbell, KY. It was during a time of War, that he would find peace in the mixtapes, Hip Hop culture books & magazines he would recieve in care packages. He listened & found himself studying the craft & art of the mixtape. After Dub was honorably discharged from the Army, He & his family moved to Georgia. That is when he decided to take his music in another direction. Being a huge mixtape fan, & becoming even more of a fan while serving his country in War, he managed to get DJ equipment. He began mixing and blending songs and discovered a passion as well as a strong talent for it.
Always a thinker & always using his imagination, he came up with the name Dub Floyd. It's molded from his fathers name Wille Floyd Butler. He later came up with the infamous "Mixtape's New Nightmare" alias, because he felt that he would be a threat to this new found passion of DJ'ing & creating mixtapes. To date, Dub has released over 20 mixtapes, including "Screamixx" his blend collection & the best selling series. Summer of 06' has been a blast for Dub, he released Hip Hop Dock-Trine: The Official Boondocks Mixtape. Sponsored by the good folks of The Boondocks, the cartoon seen on Adult Swim. A compilation of skilled names in the Hip Hop world, & hosted by Asheru who composed and performed the theme song for the hit TV show. He's had a numerous amount of great reviews on his mixtapes from magazines & sites such as Rapmullet.com, Ballerstatus.net, Yoraps.com ect. He has been featured on MTV's Mixtape Monday a matter of 3 times.
He is also a member of All Out Entertainment (All Out Allstars) ran by legendary Miami DJ, DJ Aspekt a.k.a Neva Trust A Skinny DJ. Dub has had the opportunity of working with many talented up & coming artists. In the summer of 06' he became a member & president of Team AFFicial DJ's appointed by Co CEO's Geolani The Boss & Montega aka Human Heroin. He's is now the newest member of the G-Mode Dj's. Dub has had the opportunity to work with many DJ's & Artists. DJ's include... A teenage girl, who sleeps on a Dub Floyd mixtape has a disturbing nightmare in which she is stalked through a dark, neverending boiler room by a creepy, shadowy figure with a dirty red-and-green sweater, a battered hat, and a glove with razor-sharp knives for fingernails. Just as he catches her, however, she wakes up screaming, only to discover four razor cuts in her nightdress identical to the cuts in her dream. The next day, she finds out that her friend slept on a Dub Floyd mixtape and had the same dream. That night, the teenage girl, her friend and her friend's boyfriend have a sleep-over to make their distraught friend feel better. Her rebellious, on-and-off boyfriend crashes the party and goes to bed with her. However, She has another nightmare, and this time the killer catches her and brutally murders her. Her boyfriend wakes up to find her being cut open by invisible knives and then dragged across the ceiling. Her boyfriend is of course suspected of the killing and is arrested the next day.
The teenage girl's friend then has three sadistically creepy, violent nightmares, in school, in the bath, and in her bed, where she is viciously stalked then attacked by the same terrifying figure who attacked her friend that was tragically murdered. These nightmares lead her to talk to her murdered friend's boyfriend in prison, who tells her what he saw in his girlfriends room. She becomes increasingly convinced that the figure appearing in her dreams is the person responsible for the killing of her friend, much to the dismay of her mother. Her and her skeptical boyfriend rush to the police station late at night to talk to their friend's boyfriend in prison, only to find that he's been strangled by his own bedsheets. It appears to everyone, except her, to be a suicide.
Her mother takes her to a Dream Therapy Clinic to ensure she gets some sleep. Once again, she has a horrendous nightmare. This time, her arm is badly cut, but she finds that she has brought something out from her dream: the killer's battered hat. It arouses concern, but also other feelings in her mother, who is clearly hiding a secret.
Eventually, her mother, increasingly drink-sodden, reveals to her that the owner of the hat, and the killer, was a man called Dub Floyd , a mixtape DJ who constantly put out mixtapes & at times made neighbors angry with the ammount of noise coming from his home. Furious, vengeful neighbors burned him alive in his boiler room hideout where he put together his mixtapes. Now, it appears he is manipulating the dreams of anyone sleeping on him to enact his revenge from beyond the grave. Her mother, however, reassures her that Dub Floyd can't hurt anyone ("He's dead, honey, because Mommy killed him."
She devises a plan, with her boyfriend, to catch Dub Floyd , but her boyfriend succumbs to sleep and is viciously killed by being sucked into his bed and shot back up in a fountain of blood and guts. She faces Mixtape's New Nightmare on her own and succeeds in destroying him by turning her back on him and draining him of all energy... or so she thinks...
