i take long drives with loud music to resolve hurt feelings and heartaches. i send great handwritten postcards. i like seeing welcome signs when i cross state lines. i lived in tufnell park, islington and kensington in london. i sat on steps in the colosseum. i'm superstitious out of habit. i drank my first guinness on o'connell street in dublin. i've stood in front of paintings that made me cry. i blush easily.
i'm in love with a wonderful man. over the past few years while i've been in north carolina and traveling in europe, he's been in japan and touring through asia and the gulf while in the navy. i'm just glad that all of the miles he's covered have eventually brought him here, and i'm so grateful he's in my life. nfdw ♥.

standing in a very long check-in queue at london gatwick, there were a couple of guys in the line waiting to check-in for a flight to philadelphia when i was waiting to check-in for my flight to charlotte. they had obviously been backpacking, and had been many times before, with patches from all over europe and south america. i wish i had said hi to them. i've met people in airports, train stations, on the london underground. those instances are little blessings. i'd like more of those.
