About Me

Walking along this rutted terrain called life, down unfamiliar paths, around strange corners, feeling His strong hand of guidance, knowing the Source of grace, learning to trust… that’s Jolene Riley’s journey. Her road began deep in the heartland. From recording for radio with her dad, mom and four brothers in their Nebraska basement to the sophistication of recording with John Andrew Schreiner, producer, a common thread of worship prevails. Jolene’s talent and passion for music has resulted in performances as far as Europe, each one a tribute in her heart to the One she serves and credits for her new CD, “Journeyin’ On”. In addition to her original lyrics, the CD is filled with peaceful and inspirational settings of the Psalms.Jolene received a Masters of Music from the University of Southern California in Choral Music and was voted “Teacher of the Year” by her peers as a music director in South Orange County. She has directed and produced over 50 musicals, and also wrote and directed “The Brooke”.Her recent focus is to encourage women and single moms. Through life's struggles, her desire is that the road she’s traveled will give encouragement and hope to one in need, “Oh, Savior, I am willing to do the work You need. Some other path to journey, some other hands to lead. Journeyin’ on.” That’s really what this path is all about, taking His love to help a hurting world. “We need fellowship. We need each other. It’s a hard world out there. I want to be there for others who hurt, to find His purpose through the pain.”

Influences: I love a variety of music... mostly Christian Worship, Contemporary Christian, Hymns, Choral, Classical, Musicals. My favorite composers are Bach and Mozart. Growing up, I listened to Love Song, Keith Green, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Andre Crouch and Amy Grant. My family sang Gaither and Dottie Rambo. Currently, I love listening to the meditative praise of Fernando Ortega (his new "Grace and Peace" is wonderful) and Marty Goetz' "The Love of God". "When I Don't Know What to Do" by Tommy Walker moves me to praise! I love the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Crystal Lewis, Chris Tomlin, Mary, Mary...
