BENDER wurde im Herbst 2006 gegründet. Mit der Idee, etwas Neues an der NEScoast (=Gegend um Bad Neustadt/Saale) zu schaffen ging man ans Werk. Relativ schnell machten sich Florian (VOX,Support Guitar) und Franek (Lead Guitar, Back ups), beide ex-Entropy Members, Thomas (Drums, Back ups) von SANITARY NAPKINS und Michael (Bass) an die Arbeit. Die ersten Songs sind bereits geschrieben, Teilweise bei SONICROOM auch schon aufgenommen. Mit eindeutigem Ziel vor Augen schreiten BENDER nun weiter und bringen ihre Songs an der NEScoast entlang unter's Volk.
Alright, there are several myths and rumors around the foundation of Bender. In their recent formation (Florian Vocals, Guitar; Franek Guitar, back ups; Michael Bass; Thomas Drums, back ups) they play together since October '06 when there was some kind of a band fusion between a nameless Skatepunk project by Florian, Michael and Thomas and the former Entropy members Franek and Florian who played in both projects by that time. yeah, are you confused now?
In this formation the band started in October 2006 when they played several songs and everyone knew it was fantastic. After two months they knew they had to show their songs to the public, so the time was right for the first show at a small club called Club '74 in Schmalwasser with Frog from France. It took them weeks to find themselves a name and so they chose BENDER because it sounded interesting and everyone immediately compared the band with the drunk robot from a famous cartoon series (e.g. JR from Less Than Jake).
3rd Punkrawk Invasion was a hole success. Everyone loved this new amazing band from the NEScoast and so they went to the studio to record their first Demo CD which has been released on march 16th in combination with an event in the local youth club this show was nearly as good as the first one but then Bender broke up for two months when their drummer decided to go to Australia to get to know the kangoroos and learn how to surf.
This was definateley a hard time for the rest of the band because they were unable to play shows without their drummer but they used the time to write new material and increase their playing so the days faded away like snow and when Thomas was back they already had their next show in Bad Koenigshofen where they played as openers for the first time in front of a larger crowd.
Clearly knowing about their aim Bender are marching on to spread their unique and powerful sound around the NEScoast and the rest of the world.
