About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Purple and black

I was a quiet kid in school, had a few close friends, and was generally liked by everyone. I got along with the jocks, the stoners, the geeks, the popular kids and the brains but resonated most with the artists and creative types. I graduated young and went into the Army for lack of an idea of anything better to do; “Do you like camping?” asked the guy that was helping me choose a specialty. “I sure do”, I answered naively. “Well then you’ll love this job” he replied.I served three years in combat arms as a “forward observer”, part of the “fire support team” or “F.I.S.T.”. We were affectionately called F.I.S.T. F#cks. The only thing it had in common with camping was sleeping on the ground. There were no campfires, no alcoholic beverages, no burgers on the grill and no smores. Well I got to see the world, meet a lot of cool people and blow sh!t up, but I realized that it wasn’t my cup of tea, so when my time was up I got out to got to school. In college, I started off great, so excited to be there, but I had kind of randomly picked a major. What I really wanted to do was be a psychologist, but because I was so introverted, I thought I would suck at it…and I didn’t want to suck. So I bounced around from major to major. I was pretty miserable while working my dead end security job and failing out of school. The only thing that was going well was my two and a half year relationship with my girlfriend at the time. Or so I thought. Well long story short, she split and the only thing that seemed to be working in my life was gone. At the time, I think if I had a dog…even he would have bit me. Luckily I didn’t have a dog at the time. Well when you’re cruising at 100 MPH, going nowhere fast and life places a brick wall in your path, once you regroup you have to rethink you plan. Luckily at the time I found a book on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and I thought “This sh!t is so cool, this is what I want to do when I grow up”! I read everything I could on the subject, took every training I could, changed my major to psychology and got a job at a school for kids with behavioral problems so I could have “relevant work experience” in the behavioral science field. To this day, I think that my girl did me a HUGE favor by breaking up with me, as it started me on the path of finding my PASSION!I love working with the kids at the school. One of the most touching things you’ll ever see is these kids that were “written off” by society walking across that stage in June and reaching for their diploma. I really feel my niche is helping train the staff though. For me being a trainer, up in front of a group, helping them learn is like “play” that I get paid for.I am a certified NLP Master Practitioner, Certified Silva 2000® Essential Mind Power,, Instructor, certified in Ericksonion Hypnosis, I hold certification in NLP Coaching form the NLP Institute of California, recognized as one of the premier training institutes in the field.I studied business management, and training and development at Brown University and completed a training certificate in September of 2005.
