******************Hothane Optimist Thunder is from Sacramento, California. His Mother is from New Orleans, Louisiana and his dad is from Harlem, New York. When he was young Thunder's dad operated in infidelity toward his mother; his parents divorced. His dad relocated to The Bay Area of California, leaving his mother to play the role of both mother and father. As a single mother, Thunder's mom struggled to provide the necessities of life for the both of them. In the midst of gang wars and street turbulence, Thunder's mother tried earnestly to keep God as the focal point of Thunder's life. After the divorce of his parents, Thunder became nonchalant about life and began to exude this attitude in every frame of it. When Thunder's mother discerned that he truly needed a male figure in his life, she sent him to live with his dad (who was living with the last woman that he cheated on Thunder's mother with) in The Bay Area of California. The atmosphere of Oakland, San Francisco, East Palo Alto, Sequoia, and Redwood City added to the projection of negativity in Thunder's life. Living with a woman (who knew his dad was married with a family) whom his dad cheated on his mother with didn't help defuse his growing anger either. Being daily forced to protect himself at school, a bystander of drive- by shootings, and witnessing his first murder, caused Thunder to turn cold; and ceased to care about life altogether. But through all of the chaos his mother's Godly principles and words stuck with him. Along with the encouragement of his uncles incarcerated in a New Orleans penitentiary, and making music; caused Thunder not to get caught up in the "street life," but rather to maneuver through the manure. One of his uncles was with the wrong crowd, who at that time had recently committed a crime. His uncle was convicted of the crime that he didn't commit because he was with them. Opting rather to live his life on the run, as opposed to serving time for a crime that he didn't commit; he escaped from prison. He was found, shot multiple times and killed. This is one of many stories that caused Thunder to try his best to stay on the straight and narrow in the midst of turmoilsome situations. Upon returning to Sacramento, California in Fall 1996, Thunder became more involved in the church, which for the most part, kept him out of trouble. Because at the time his mother didn’t have a place to stay, they lived with a woman of the church they attended. Through faith and perseverance times got better for Thunder and his mother. Thunder was high school president and graduated at the top of his class. He attended Oral Roberts University in the Fall of 2002 to the Spring of 2003. That vein of his life came to an abrupt halt at the revelation and pursuit of his destiny and purpose of music ministry. (Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.â€) He and his mother moved to the DFW, Texas area and began studying under the mentorship of Bishop T.D. Jakes at The Potter’s House. Thunder has been ministering in The Potter’s House Prison Ministry ever since! The best is yet to come!! The time of The Coming is NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
