I'm a man who has been given a lot--things I didn't deserve. I have been given unconditional love from a family. I have been given friendship from people who mean the world to me. Probably the best gift I have been given, however, is forgiveness from God.Just like everyone else, I rebelled against God. I disobeyed what He commanded of me, and I only hurt myself by doing so. I thought I had found freedom in my rebellion against God, instead I found bondage to sin--almost a tangible heaviness.Without the shedding of blood, one cannot be made right for his sinful actions. That's why God, Himself, came down and died on a cross for our sins. While on earth, we called him Jesus Christ.I have allowed Jesus to take control of my heart, mind, and life. In doing so, I have a freedom that I have never experienced before. I still struggle with my sinful desires, but it only makes me lean on God all the more.And the gift of right relationship with God and true freedom is the best gift anyone could ever ask for...
