About Me

Michael began studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston at 15 years old. There he studies harmony with Wayne Naus, and improvisation with John LaPorta. Classmate and friend Steve Vai once commented on how impressed he was after hearing Michael's original band rehersal on Hemmingway St. telling him he sounded great and said it sounded like Santana. After 2 yrs. with a local band ARABUS, goes on tour with JULIE GRANT for almost 2 yrs. Records" Light my fire" with Paul Leka producing in Bridgeport Conn. Arrives in New York in 1982. There he meets many musicians like Les Paul, Paul Butterfield, Art Blakey, Sara Vaughn, Jaco Pastorius, Tony Williams, Roy Haines, Johnny Thunders, Steve Gadd, Dave Weckel, Anthony Jackson, Frank Zappa, Neil Young, James Baldwin, Hirim Bullock, Yngwie Malmsteen. Records tracks in the studio with Rising Force (Malmsteen's band) also with Buddy Miles, and Rick Derringer at The Record Plant Studios. Visits the Little Minetta stream that runs underneath Electric Ladyland Studios in the Village. Signs a 5 year publishing contract with DSM Producers for commercials and TV spots and they are used all over the country and abroad. Writes and records the song" Get It While You Can" for the movie "Welcome To The Doll House" with the punk band "The Con Artists" produced by Chris Spedding. Moves to Nashville and records and releases CD on Dixie Frog Record label with band leader Jimmy Tittle with Marty Stuart on Mandolin. This was recorded in Johnny Cash's home studio in Henersonville,Tenn. produced by "FURG" Johnny's producer. Currently backing jazz guitar leader Eric Bascom, with drummer Tom Artileno (NRBQ) with Ted Levine on sax and flute, Guy Devito or Dave Wortman on bass. Music Teacher full time.
