back from alaska and hawai'i. started the new gig. it's pretty sweet. change is nice. that's the latest.
right now, i'm freezing my ass off while working in ak. but i did score some classic ak powder, was given the good tour of alyeska by some locals, thanks t&j! next week i'll be back in my preferred setup... trunks, tee and sandals at work. in hawai'i. too bad i have to fly northworst sh!thole airlines to get there. lame.
in the summer i don't sleep much. in the winter i don't sleep much. i don't follow a schedule. well, i have a schedule, but most don't think it's a schedule. if it's fresh snow? go board. good swell? go surf. everything else comes after that... i grew up a block from the beach, but i haven't lost touch with the mountains and deserts. i'm allergic to penecillin, idiots and tourists. i love my coffee, love pasta, am a total sucker for girl scout thin mints and help lower the average age at work by a good chunk.
i get a good laugh out of the facial expressions people have when i inform them what i do. i guess some people don't want to know so much eh? and c'mon people! oceanographers don't work with whales and dolphins! that's a MARINE BIOLOGIST! our research vessels don't smell like dead fish thank you very much!
