So okay..... There is nothing in any way professional about the songs (or manner of recording) I've posted so far on my page, but really, they're at least some semblance of a reflection of me. The first is one I was playing with last summer but haven't finished. The second is my sis and I recording a song about these dudes outside of my apartment one evening who were trying to figure out how to harvest various drugs in the drain pipe. We were inspired. I improvised our lil' hook, and my sister (the insurmountable-that sounds really sick-Patrice Bowler) created the rap. It has become a family favourite at holiday gatherings. I am currently recording an album called Chestnuts, where I 'rethink' old classics from musicals. Good times. I love Jay-Z as much as the next mildly reserved white girl, but I gotta pay respect to the medium that keeps me clothed, fed, and my Echo on the road. Viva Sondheim!! (Speaking of which, if you live in or plan to visit the Vancouver area between May and July, I better see your tush at the Stanley Theatre where I'm playing Gypsy in the show Gypsy - come on, she was the burlesque QUEEN; go buy your ticket already!!)
