Hi Everyone! I'm Lisa - I love being random and having fun with everyone. I'm in college at Bob Jones University studying to be a Pharmacist, but it's really really hard so we'll see how it goes :) I go to the best church in the world (Harvest Baptist - www.hbcrockhill.org - TRY THE QUIZ OUT!!!) with the best Pastor in the world (Pastor Fant) and the best Youth Pastor in the world (Pastor Dan) and I enjoy getting involved as much as I can!
Umm...one of my favorite songs has a chorus that says "Scars heal, glory fades, and all we're left with are the memories made. Pain hurts, but only for a minute. Life is short so go on and live it..." The rest of the song is kinda dumb, but I love that part! I'm all about trying new crazy things (on the list there still remains bungee jumping, sky diving, and kyaking) because life is so short and it's so much more fun to have good memories to look back on....fun memories as well as serious ones!
On a more serious note...a couple of my fav. Bible verses are found in
Col 1:23, 27-29 - If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard...To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory...which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
As Christians, we have this amazing "hope of the gospel" - the good news that God has to offer us, the excitement of knowing for sure that when we die, we will spend eternity with our Lord in heaven (I John 5:13)! The only problem is Heaven is a perfect place, meaning there's no sin there. Problem: we as humans are very sinful (Jer. 17:9). In Romans 6:23 it says that the payment for our sins is death - Major problem! There's a wonderful answer to that problem though (this is the good news part!). God LOVED US sooo much that he sent his Son, Jesus - who was a sinless man - to die for us (Rom. 5:8), to take our punishment so that we can go to Heaven. God sending his son to take our place is almost like a person who goes to the doctor and finds out that he has cancer, and then another person comes along and says, "I'll take that cancer for you. I'll die, so that YOU can live." That's what Jesus did for us! He died and took our sins so that we can live with God in Heaven forever. All you have to do is believe! It's not a prayer that saves you, it's not going to church and praying and changing your life so that you're "good" - it's only believing that you're a sinner, and that Christ came to earth, and died for YOU so that YOU can spend eternity with HIM.
John 3:16 - For God so loved (insert YOUR name here) that He gave His only begotten Son (that's Jesus), that if (insert YOUR name here) believes in Him, (insert YOUR name here) will not perish (die), but (insert YOUR name here) will have everlasting life!!!
If you don't KNOW FOR SURE that you would go to Heaven if you were to die today it's as simple as that! :-D
Only believe...
