About Me

Ian Sweetness - Manager, Selector, Mic Man (Dogs Body)-As a young boy growing up, I have always had a musical influence around me as my parents were heavily into buying records and playing them on a Friday night late into the morning whilst playing dominoes and rummy with their friends. The first record I ever purchased was a great hit "Should I" by Maxi Priest, from then I have never looked back. I think what inspired me to start a sound system was when my cousin, and I were at the top of my staircase at one of my sister's 21st birthday parties, the music sounded good, also hearing the DJ's chanting (as it was called then) on the Mic really got me excited. We named the set Sphinx Master and at that time, I was called Daddy Mayer. A couple of years down the line, I decided to go solo and formed the sound Satisfaxion, I played at small party functions and drink ups for close family friends. When I look back, I have always liked the name Satisfaxion as it actually means something and on several occasions, I toyed around with the idea to change the name from Sphinx Master. I used to hear DJ's and sounds play music without the party revelers being "Satisfied" hence the name. A couple of years later, I met Freddey Gee as we worked for the same company and Cookie Irie (Andrew Gittens). The rest is history as we are still very good friends and still have the desire and commitment to provide a musical service for one and all. P.S The above statement won't tell you everything but I hope it gives you a quick insight into my DJ life, which I hope may continue for a good few more years. Hopes for the future: I hope that we grow from strength to strength as a unit to spread satisfaxion amongst our followers.

Freddey Gee - Selector, DJ, Mic-man, Entertainer -I’ve always had a love for music. It goes back to the days of sitting and watching my Dad playing music on a Sunday and watching the vibe at early family parties (before being sent to my bed or to the box room with the other 25 kids, all sprawled over people’s coats sleeping).I was still in school when I started buying music at around the age of 15. I used to play music in my bedroom whilst my friends would MC. Back then I wouldn’t touch the mic. Now some may say that I chat too much. I say “God give me teet and tongue for more than just eating me dinner”.I met up with Ian back in about 1989 whilst working at the same company. We found a common ground which was our love for music. He told me he had his own sound and asked if I wanted to be part of it along with K.I.D. aka Andrew Gittens. The rest as they say is history!!! Since then we have played up and down England, and also in France, Belgium, Holland and my beloved Grenada.I was part of the Unique FM family from its inception for about 3 and a half years plus time on Skyline and various guest spots on other radio stations across London.Apparently I’m the loud, crazy, feisty one in the sound. Really I’m a shy and quiet guy. I am, No seriously HONEST… IT’S TRUE. Ahh what ever!Hopes for the future: Possibly some more radio but definitely more fun, more laughter and to continue to supply quality safe raves for all to enjoy. 1st Record: The Jungle Book
