You may of had the blues, you've probably even sang the blues. But we can bet you've never had "electrified blues".Ok, we know what you're thinking. "An SRV band." or "A Los Lonely Boys band." Actually, our fans will say that we are a Texas blues/rock/funk/latin/jazz kinda band. Here goes the story behind us...Chris Castaneda (guitar/lead vocals) taught himself how to play the guitar at the age of 12. Two years later after several failed attempts of trying to form a blues band with his friends, he then turned to his ten year old brother John (drumz/vocals), and taught him some basic beats on the drums. A bass player was needed so Chris went to his dad, Tony (bass/vocals), and taught him the bass. Their dad named his son's band Pride and Joy, not after SRV's song, but because that's what his boys were to him, his pride and joy. After about three months of practice, the trio started playing in bars around Waco.Ten years later, Pride and Joy has matured into an award winning, hard hitting power trio. Just come to a show and you'll see for yourself what Texas is all about.
