Happily married. A cat lover with 9 cats some of which I have rescued. I am a graphic designer and both a traditional and a digital artist. I intended being an artist from a very young age. At age 7 years old, I won first prize in a school painting competition, it was for all 7 year old entries at that time, for the county Berkshire. I was made redundant in the recession in 1990 and was accepted by The Swindon College of Art, to study an OND in Graphic Design as a mature student. At the end of the course, I was proud to gain 4 merits. In the late 1980's, I studied and qualified in Hairdressing, although I never pursued it as a career. Between age 18 and 23, I thoroughly enjoyed being a Window Dresser for Camp Hopson and Co, Northbrook Street, Newbury, Berkshire. In those days window displays were very creative and full, unlike the minimalist look of today. These days I often take digital photographs around Torbay, Devon. Exploring the coastline as much as possible and getting outdoors as much I can especially in good weather. I love Torbay and Devon is so beautiful, I believe my art both digital and traditional, have come on in leaps and bounds due to being so stimulated by beautiful scenery. I feel very drawn to the sea like a magnet. It gives me an eerie but welcoming energy especially in my art and well-being. Looking for dolphins and other sea mammals is exciting although I have only seen 4 dolphins swimming freely on one occasion and a large friendly seal up close on one other occasion.
I like watching the occasional film, especially if it is based on a true story, and I always enjoy a good documentary. I cannot cope with soaps at all as they seem to be all the same rubbish and certainly not stimulating. I have been trying to teach myself to play my Acoustic, Spanish/Classical and Electric guitars, for approx the last 5-6 years now, along with my Yamaha Keyboard. Unfortunately I have too many interests and so my art wins over my musical talent. I originate from the Race Horse village called Lambourn in Berkshire. Colin my husband and I moved to Torquay from Swindon in March 2000. We both felt claustrophobic in Swindon and felt a strong urge to move house to Torquay. I live within a few minutes walk to the sea where I feel one can really breath.
