Ã…smund Gylder!
Ã…smund Gylder is the head of the project One People, and a producer, musician and song-
writer. He comes from Stovner in Oslo, and for many years he has been involved in work
to promote solidarity and cultural inclusion in his local neighborhood in Groruddalen.
Among other things he has been responsible for a music/culture cafe´ and a local music
club where people from different cultural backgrounds have been able to join in artistic
and musical meetings. In addition to his work in creating forums for joint activities be-
tween peoples of different cultures and his music, Ã…smund works as a publisher.
He has produced and composed songs for others such as Anja Øyen Vister, who was
awarded the title “Unsigned Artist of the Year†by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corpora-
tion’s Radio Channel P3 in 2004. Anja and Åsmund arranged and performed the winning
contribution to the Beatles competition organized by EMI, Norway, NRK P3 and Dag-
bladet in 2001. He was the producer and was responsible for the Bob marley tribute CD where Norwegian artists gave their respect to Bob Marley in 2001.
Ã…smund has also arranged music for the Ultima Festival, was the front
figure and songwriter in the band Soldogg that gave out the albums “Pendel (1998) and
“Drosera†(2000). He gave out his first solo album “Gnist†in 2004. In November 2006
Åsmund was awarded the Hans Christian Ostrø’s Memorial Prize in Oslo, Norway for
his active engagement in peace-building activities.
