They call us Men in Blue...

About Me

In the beginning were the Pet Shop Boys. Their music was heard everywhere and by everyone, but their name made no sense to Swedish children. ”Why do they call theirselves Ketchup Boys?", said one of Felix daughters one day, when listening to the car radio. That..s where it all started - we had a name but no music. Heinz made up a couple of tunes on the mandolin, and sent them off (computerwise, that is) to Felix, with the humble message ”Make up some banjo solos to these". All tunes were in the key of D, and Felix..s stiff fingers got a real workout. To this day, the Boys have composed eleven tunes in either D major or D minor (and one in A, called A mistake). When time permits, they will all be recorded on the Boys debut album, naturally named ”D Album”. Heinz and Felix have not yet performed in public, but are irregularly working on a roadshow, one day to be performed in the backstreets of rural Swedish towns. And remember - there are times when the Ket Chup Boys leave the studio and walk the streets like ordinary men...

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Ket Chup Boys has two distinguished members, Der Heinz, who plays guitar, mandolin and bass on most tunes, and Der Felix, who lends his talents (Well...) to the fivestring banjo. Once in a while they are joined by the talented young bass player Euroshopper.
Influences: Some people may take offence or get hurt, but we think that bluegrass musicians, generally speaking, are very narrowminded, when it comes to music. The Ket Chup Boys listen to anything that resembles music, including bluegrass, and call their own music Blaues Gras, known as ”Bluegrass played with a smile”.
Sounds Like: ...the band playing the tunes you have forgotten to remember.
Record Label: Self adhesive
Type of Label: Major
