Today, every band plays similar music. They use the same formula repeatedly, combining fast-paced rhythmic sections, the same meaningless lyrics and slow-paced “breakdowns†in a blindingly awkward slur of noise and erratic structure. Sailspointstarward, hailing from central New Jersey, is a breath of fresh air from the monotony of the hardcore scene. Combining the catchiness of modern rock, the rhythmic work of progressive metal and a hardcore ethic to match, they bring a new standard to the modern hardcore scene. They are known for their exhilarating stage performance, constantly intermingling with the crowd with their heartfelt music and thought-provoking lyrics. To match, they are all regular, hardworking guys, all with one goal in mind; to bring about a revolution in today’s underground music scene. They try to bring a message to their crowd through every song, for there is no reason to scream if you have nothing to scream about, and no reason to play music if you have nothing to play music about. By the end of summer 2007, they will be releasing their first 7-song EP, under the production work of Carly Coma, of Candiria (Earache Records) fame.
