Silicon Records was created in 2001,
born and bred to be a pioneer in online music distribution,
allowing the public to choose the tracks they wanted to buy and download directly to their computers,
and artists to receive a fair share for their art with no complications added.
This was years before itunes...
We started promoting the label in summer 2001 in different festivals across europe,
while we where also researching new and established artists to represent it became clear that it was a little too soon for them to trust an online distribution format only label,
so we decided to prepare a debut release compilation cd to get ourselves established among the artists and the public.
We where preparing to release the compilation "Level 01: Dark Waters" featuring artist like Antix, Pixel, Sensifeel and Audiomatic in christmas 2001 when the global industry collapsed (post 9/11) taking down music business with it, so in 2002 we decided to keep the commercial side of the record label in standby and invested the following years focusing on some more technical aspects of our music: production techniques, audio technologies, musical and groove tendencies, etc.
In this process we developed a very specific musical language and defined our very own style instead of following established genres or tendencies
In the meantime some mainstream music has been getting increasingly electronic underground influenced,
an increasing demand of dance music in the mass media (tv commercials, movie industry, games, etc.) has been heavily influencing the public musical habits,
pushing electronic dance music as THE mass music of the future

In 2007 we are ready to publicly present our own music and artists,
we will start releasing our music on a regular basis featuring a wide range of distribution technologies,
from online giants like iTunes, Zune and MusicNet for digital downloads
to standard cds on selected local music stores and e-stores around the world.
