Ronnie Gaines was a wonderful musician who's life was tragically cut short in 1967 at age 31 by a private plane crash. At that time he was one of the most popular performers in the Northwest US and had just released his first album and finished several tracks for his second. He sang like the crooners of the day, and played piano, organ, trumpet and mellophone, all with a smooth touch that just makes you feel good inside. He left two sons who both are players too - Ron is a drummer/percussionist and Dave is a gifted sax player of some renown in jazz circles. His nephews are also musicians of note: Tim is a very talented and well known bass player, Steve plays guitar and Debbie is a vocalist. His grand daughter Kari who sadly he never met, is also a passionate singer and you can often hear Ronnie in her voice. We hope you enjoy this tribute to a great man, an amazing talent, and someone we all loved and miss very much.
