Shoot Your Mouth Off

Being disabled has its good points. It can get you into a Shoot Your Mouth Off Film.

About Me

Shoot Your Mouth Off makes films with disabled people. We do this because we believe that they are under-represented in the media, and when they are represented it is often as saintly courageous beings overcoming terrible afflictions with a resigned smile, or as bitter and twisted, driven to villainous deeds because life has dealt them such a bad hand.SYMO is comprised of Karen Sheader, the disabled founder of the organisation who produces the films, Steve Carolan, who writes and directs the majority of our work, and Derek Mathews, who is the techie bod behind the camera and also scores the films and handles all the graphic design.

This short film explains things further:

My Interests

disabled people and the conflicts and barriers they face and the debates that surround the whole issue of disability

I'd like to meet:

Anybody who is interested in our work, particularly aspiring disabled actors and philanthropic millionaires who would like to give us large amounts of cash and have no editorial control over our work!

Music:

Derek Mathews (Del) has created some intriguing music and soundtracks for our films. Particularly worthy of note is the score for Killer Cure, which can be seen on YouTube. But also intriguing was the soundtrack for We R Society, in which he imitated an ape to great effect.

Movies:

Killer Cure, Quarter of the Lot, We R Society, Nuts for Pudding amongst a plethora of others.
