Mustache Pete is an up and coming music producer and engineer who originally hails from the windy city of Chicago. Pete started working with music as a teen and decided to make music his career by attending Columbia College Chicago for sound engineering. Having landed an assistant position at ChicagoTraxx Recording studio, Pete was able to learn from seasoned engineers such as Larry Sturm, Bryon Rickerson, Gary Kahn, and other professionals working with many major label artists as well as many local artists. After getting a feel for how the industry works, Pete teamed up with Chicago producer Reo. The two started Pieces of My Mind Productions, a southside studio specializing in rap and r&b production, as well as artist development. Having built a resume that looks like a who's who list of Chicago artists over a course of two years, (Spree Isreal, Snypaz, Do or Die, Dia, Gnut and Kilslo, Disco, Whiteboy, PsychoDrama, Triple Darkness, Dawreck, Gball, Verbally Diseased, Juice, Ezell, and many more), the two were making some real noise in the local scene. Attracting the attention of local Producer Jamahl, Reo and Jamahl collaborated on the track "So Gone" for RnB artist Monica. The song would eventually hit number one on the billboard charts, which started attracting attention to the crew on a major level. Following these turn of events, Pieces of My Mind decided to disband, with Reo and Jamahl heading to Atlanta to head up RockHowse Productions, and Pete heading to Iowa to work with Grammy Award winning heavy metal band Slipknot. Present: Pete has teamed up with Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson to form Moonbase1 Studios, Currently residing in Des Moines, Iowa.
