Performing came naturally to the Atlanta native Karrington Sims who was given the moniker KP at young age of nine. KP started rapping in his teen at the ripe age of 13. Only two years later KP released his own mix tape.
Rapping was an escape for him, and a mean to express himself about the hardships of being young and homeless in the streets of Atlanta. This therapeutic outlet was inspired by the great Tupac Shakur. Although his style and content differ, the passion and emotion in his lyrics carry the same weight, by taking Atlanta rap to the next level.
Most recently KP’s first single “Bean Pop” was chosen by Jermaine Dupri SoSo Def radio on Atlanta’s WVEE (V103) as pick of the week.
To date the reviews for the single has been 95% positive by today’s top DJs and taste makers. He is endorsed by greats like Greg Street, Dj T Rock of the Poole Palace and my other regional djs. The single is creating a ground swell at radio, showing its strongest moves in the mix-show area. With more spins coming each week. His live performance has been attracting just as much attention doing shows in the southeast region constantly.
KP is poised to be another great MC and who is setting off of Atlanta once again. If you talked to KP you would know he is ready to show the world that the sky is the limit with his first album.
