DJ JAM My real name is James Lawson, I was born a northerner in Durham on the 27th July 1975 which makes me 21! I got into djing because i was into clubbing big time. My mate and I used to save up our money and go to london every month to club UK in wandsworth, which must have inspired loads of people to pour loads of money into vinyl!! I started djing 12 years ago and was loving TONY DE VIT!! But not in a gay way, even though i'm feeling a bit gay writing this!!! Tony de vit was playing nu nrg hard house which is where i got my style from... uplifting and in your face hard house!! My main residencies were XENAS on the Isle of Wight where i played with the likes of rachel auburn, john007flemming, lisa lashes, lisa pin up, pete wardman and 700 up for it clubbers. every week. This led to me getting my residency at the CHUNNEL CLUB in vauxhall in London. Was crazy, played one night and the promoter booked me every month for 2 years straight away !! The chunnel was some of the best nights of my life back in 98!! The crowd created the most amazing vibe! '98 was probably my biggest year I got to the quarter finals of MIXMAGs redemption competition, got my residency in London and presented a club show on Isle of wights TV12 channel, called,funnily enough,CLUB98!! My djing name back then was JAMMIE DODGER. Then a couple of years ago i stopped djing to settle down and marry my fiancee of 10 years!! Very bad move!! She was off 6 months later with someone else!! Still, the break from music and clubbing was needed and then i heard ELECTRO HOUSE, and was like HELL yeah!! I Heard Tom Stephan a.k.a SUPERCHUMBO on the essential mix and my Electro sound was born! My top tune from the last couple of months is LOLLIPOP by DADA feat. SANDY RIVERA and TRIX, electro house at its finest with big build ups and some dirty,sexy lyrics!! So that takes me to where we are now, I have signed to SLIPDISC PROMOTIONS with a guy called Lee Sheppard and his fantastic staff. He provides the bookings and I spin the tunes, look forward to seeing you at the next SLIPDISC PARTY!! Jam xx
