I am here for Friends and Networking

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Steve Jobs, Joe Torre, William Gibson, President William Jefferson Clinton and, of course, George Lucas (if only to say, "George, George, George...")

Music:

I'm a jazz and classical trumpet player, sang in an a cappella group in college (the Middlebury College Bobolinks), and tried to sing lead (and play bad rhythm guitar and bass) in a number rock bands in my high school years. Oh, and I sang at Carnegie Hall, but it was as part of a group, so I'm not sure it really counts...Long story short: I like a LOT of different kinds of music. My iPod (a quickly-obsolete 40GB iPod Photo) is filled with everything from rock, metal, hip-hop, jazz, classical, and the downright quirky. Strangely, I find myself most frequently listening to Pink Floyd, Billy Joel (on which I was raised), Queen and the Beastie Boys. But yes, I'm that guy portrayed in OFFICE SPACE rapping along with a number of old-school beats...And there was that one time, on the 405, where I found myself singing along so loudly to Meat Loaf that the women in the convertible a couple of lanes over ended up clapping and singing along.

Television:

Well, Monty Python's Flying Circus, of course... The Sopranos, Carnivale, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld, Cheers, Frasier, Friends, Star Trek, Doctor Who (far more when I was younger than now), The Twilight Zone, Battlestar Galactica (old and new), Columbo, Max Headroom.

Books:

All works of William Shakespeare, William Blake and Dante, Neuromancer, Snow Crash, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, So Long and Thanks for All the Fish, Life, the Universe and Everything, Mostly Harmless, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul, Last Chance to See, etc.

Heroes:

Your results:
You are Spider-Man Spider-Man 85% Superman 75% Iron Man 65% Green Lantern 60% Robin 52% Catwoman 50% Hulk 45% The Flash 45% Batman 40% Wonder Woman 37% Supergirl 32% You are intelligent, witty,
a bit geeky and have great
power and responsibility.

Crazy idea... And I need an astrophysicist (or at least a rocket scientist) to help.

OK, so, I came up with a crazy insane idea the other day while driving to work. It's an idea to save the world. Well, specifically, it's an idea to save the polar ice caps. And it's just an idea --...
