When Greg Garing moved to Nashville, Tennessee in the mid 80's to do his part to help preserve traditional country music, he had no idea what an impact he would have on Music City over the next ten years. Borrowing Roy Acuff's band, The Smokey Mountain Boys, Greg started playing the local music venues in Nashville and creating quite a stir. It wasn't until Greg began playing on Nashville's lower Broadway that his importance was truly realized. At a time when Country music was at its commercial worst, Greg Garing helped Nashville realize the importance of its roots in American culture and its very heart. Setting up shop at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, (America's quintessential honky-tonk of the 40's and 50's), Greg not only brought upon a revival of the music but of the street itself.... The rest is Nashville Folk Lore.
