RITON
Henry Smithson, started DJing in Newcastle where he was spotted my Mark Rae who signed him to his now defunct label, Grand Central records where he released his first instrumental album “Beats Du Jour”. After it’s great success, DJ magazine saying ‘Grand Central couldn’t have picked a better album to make history with. Music to make your soul grin’, he then formed the Gucci Sound System in London with Ben Fat Trucker, who have hosted some of the hottest names around at their night at 333 in Hoxton. His second album, “Homies and Homos”, a grittier record with sleazy electro vocals came out in 2004. ----
DUKE DUMONT
Winner of the ‘Diesel U Music Electronic Award’, he has killed it on dancefloors all over Europe and the UK with his banging sets. Has done remix work for Mekon. ----
MAN LIKE ME
Performing a live set, these three lads from Camden mix raw grime and playful electro with their cheeky-chappy rhymes. Their 12” ‘Oh My Gosh’, was a massive hit in clubs across London. ----
CASPER C
Casper hails from Brighton, and writes for the hugely popular Fluokids blog. With the rest of the gang, they put on parties all over Europe but are mostly based in Paris. Currently residing in Camden, he manages to still find time to organise the Adventures in the Beetroot Field and his popular Blogger’s Delight evenings at the Lock Tavern. ----
YOUNG TURKS
The biggest thing to hit the London club scene, Caius Pawson has gone from success to success, first starting his original Young Turks nights which promoted some of the hottest new bandies, as well as bringing back some old-school garage, grime, and D’n’B acts out of retirement to show the kids how they used to dance. After almost single-handedly inventing the ‘grindie’ scene, he now works for XL Records and runs London’s biggest weekly indie night, Chalk at La Scala. ----
LEX DJ
Will from Lex Records, also from Camden (seems popular, wonder why?), works for Lex Records who have signed some of the best DJs and MCs on the alternative hip hop scene. Boom Bip, Dangermouse, Subtle, Kid Acne and a very anticipated new release from M.F Doom and Ghostface. Obviously he gets his hands on some very tasty records. ----
Live visuals on the night by BEN STREBEL from Noise of Art ----
