A veritable grab bag of influences, from the lonesome wail of Hank Sr. to the hard rockin’ sound of the Misfits, from the films of Sergio Leone to the films of Russ Meyers, The Salt Town Greasers, a Salt Lake City based five piece trio, have definitely come up with their own brand of perverted and bastardized rock and roll. Originally formed by Becky, Adam and David way back in double ought 3, they plied their trade as a greaser hillbilly-rock trio around the honky tonks and dive bars of Salt Lake City. After years of playing live and two different failed attempts to record the electric mayhem that was the Greaser sound, they felt as if they were spinning their wheels. However, after a year break they were unable to extricate themselves from that slick, sweet, stickiness of that Salt Town Greaser sound. They knew that they had something that should be heard, and it was their duty in the name of all things rock and roll that they see it through to the end. Rising from the ashes of the old burnt out shack that was S.T.G. and moving into the (only slightly used) doublewide trailer that they now occupy, they expanded their sound and their sexiness by adding Miel on Violin and Shannon on vocals to complete their trio of five. Hotter than a two dollar pistol, sharper than a switchblade knife, smoother than a sip of Brother Thompson’s Perverted Corn Squeezin’s and hornier than a billygoat in a pepper patch, The Salt Town Greasers are S.L.C.’s premier sexy, drunken, cowboy, punk band. A five piece trio that expands and contracts to the beat of a broken bass drum and a distended liver.
